Surrounded by olive plantations, oak and cypress forests and with a beautiful view of the green hills, the houses are perfect for a relaxing holiday. Swimming mermaids, sandpipers and shell seekers will find the nearest sandy beaches only about a mile away. In Prines (1 km) and Atsipopoulo (2.5 km) there are several shops, taverns and cafes. Leave the kitchen of the holiday home cold and treat yourself to small regional delicacies in one of the taverns. The capital Rethymnon, where the Venetian and Ottoman heritage has been preserved, is well worth a visit. Narrow streets, the Fortezza fortress and the harbor with a view of the lighthouse as well as many shops and cozy taverns make a day out a great experience.
